Guangzhou ballet dancers win international awards in the Republic of Korea

Chinese dancers Chen Yongyu and Zhang Chaoyi from the Guangzhou Ballet won gold medals in the senior male and female divisions of the prestigious 16th Korea International Ballet Competition (KIBC) in Seoul, Republic of Korea, on June 25.

KIBC is a world-class ballet competition organized by the Korea Ballet Foundation and the Korea International Ballet Concours. The Guangzhou Ballet is the only Chinese team this year, standing out among 300 competitors from eight countries, including Russia, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.

"In addition to the competition, we also focused on mutual learning and exchange as well as spreading Chinese culture." Chen and Zhang mentioned that they hoped to show the world the elegance and cultural confidence of Chinese ballet dancers, and present the cultural and artistic achievements of Guangzhou.
