May 18 this year marks the 47th International Museum Day, with the theme "Museum, Sustainability and Well-being". To celebrate this day, various activities will be held at the Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdong in the city of Yangjiang, the main venue of this year's celebration.
It's also reported that all non-profit museums in the province will be open to the public for free on May 18.

The celebration at Guangdong's main venue will start on May 17 with an opening gala at the Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdong, gathering representatives from over 370 museums from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. The performances will focus on the Maritime Silk Road and underwater archaeology.

On May 18, 3,000 free tickets to the Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdong will be available to the public. An exhibition featuring cultural relics and creative cultural products from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao will take place at the museum.
In addition, visitors can try kite making, Yangjiang dragon head making, and lacquer art at the intangible cultural heritage bazaar, register to visit the cultural relic restoration laboratory of Nanhai No. 1 shipwreck, and evaluate the relics for free.
