Celebrations held across China to mark Double Ninth Festival

The Double Ninth Festival, also known as Seniors' Day or Chongyang Festival in China, is a traditional Chinese holiday observed on the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese calendar. Celebrations have been held across China.

Every year on the eve of the Double Ninth Festival, many people gather to hike up Baiyun Mountain in Guangzhou, holding pinwheels to pray for blessings. In the evening, visitors enjoy the pleasant natural scenery and colorful lights while hiking, reuniting with family and friends, celebrating, and praying for good fortune.
