Why we love Guangdong | Yangjiang, a city of happiness

As a coastal city located in the west of Guangdong, Yangjiang is regarded as one of the happiest cities in China for 2022. With beautiful and romantic islands and numerous delicacies, Yangjiang is an ideal place to spend your holiday.

Yangjiang has an urban forest coverage rate of 57.58%. It boasts 458.6 kilometers of coastline and Hailing Island, one of the "Ten Most Beautiful Islands in China". The island is home to the Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdong, which displays the wreckage of the ancient vessel Nanhai No. 1. Since 2003, the South China Sea Fishing Festival has been held every year on Hailing Island, where people can always enjoy fresh seafood.

With a rich history, Yangjiang is dotted with ancient buildings dating back to the Nan Song Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty, and the Qing Dynasty. Furthermore, it has a kite culture of 1,400 years, which has earned Yangjiang the name of "the hometown of Chinese kites".

In the old town of Yangjiang, local dishes such as rice noodle rolls, Yangjiang Goose Rice, Mackerel Rice, and almond tea bear the overflowing happiness of the Yangjiang people.

Yangjiang's offshore wind power industry has grown from scratch in recent years to a wind power industry cluster with a global comprehensive industry chain, and the total output value of the industry chain is expected to exceed 100 billion RMB in 2026.
