Exhibitors at 1st C-PLPEX from Portuguese-speaking Countries visited Hengqin to expand business opportunities

On October 23, the delegations of enterprises from Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) at the 1st China-Portuguese-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Expo (Macao) (1st C-PLPEX) visited the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin for inspection and exchange, with the 144-hour visa-free transit policy for foreigners to the Chinese mainland.

The delegations included more than 40 exhibitors, buyers, and visitors from PSCs such as Angola, Brazil, and Portugal. They visited the Macao-funded logistics enterprises and explored the latest trends in different sectors in the Cooperation Zone, such as traditional Chinese medicine, big health, business and trade. They also got insights into the overall development, business environment and supportive policies of the Cooperation Zone.

During the visit, the representatives of PSCs delegation paid close attention to the business environment and showed great interest in the preferential policies for enterprises from PSCs. Some said that they had gained more knowledge about the preferential policies and favorable business environment of the Cooperation Zone, and they hope to seek more opportunities in Macao and Hengqin to further tap into the Chinese market.

António Lei, director of the Economic Development Bureau of the Cooperation Zone, said that with the integrated development of Macao and Hengqin, the Cooperation Zone has been improving its business environment and introducing a package of supportive policies. Together with Macao, the model of “multi-venue events” was promoted, providing broader development space and investment convenience for PSCs, and more investors from PSCs are expected to invest, develop, and explore more cooperation opportunities in the Cooperation Zone.
