Guangdong, HK, Macao logistics park puts Phase I in operation

Phase I of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park in the Hezhou area passed completion acceptance on Aug 8 and will soon begin trial operation, providing robust support for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Economic and Trade Channel.

With a floorage of 143,100 square meters (35.3 acres), the project aims to establish a global supply chain service center that integrates logistics control, supply chain financing, information consulting, and professional services.

Located near the exit of HZMB's extension line, the park connects with the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and forms an efficient transportation channel to the east with the Jinhai Avenue Bridge, Huangmao Sea Channel, Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport, Zhuhai Port, and Zhuhai West Railway Station.

Phase I of the park includes a two-story ramp-up warehouse and a two-story freight elevator warehouse, boasting a storage area of over 25,000 sq m (6.2 acres). Phase II will encompass a warehouse area surpassing 66,000 sq m (16.3 acres), with construction starting in July. It is scheduled to start operation in 2024.

The National Development and Reform Commission announced on July 28 the list of national logistics hubs scheduled for construction by 2023, with Zhuhai's production service-oriented national logistics hub included in the lineup.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park is an important component of Zhuhai's production service-oriented national logistics hub. It will serve Zhuhai's seven pillar industries as well as Hengqin's high-end manufacturing industry.

Its services will also cover the 10 trillion yuan-level ($138-billion) industrial clusters in areas such as Hong Kong, Macao, the west bank of the Pearl River, western Guangdong, and key cities along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
