Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Tour embraces over 100,000 visitors since trial operation

Since the trial operation of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Tour on December 15, 2023, the bridge has welcomed more than 100,000 visitors, according to the statistics released by the border inspection division of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection Station in Guangdong Province.

During the tour, visitors can get a close-up view of the sail-shaped Jiuzhou Bridge, the dolphin-shaped Jianghai Bridge, and the Qingzhou Bridge in the shape of a Chinese knot. They also have the chance to encounter the Chinese white dolphins, known as the "giant pandas of the sea." When arriving at the Blue Dolphin Island, visitors can admire the scenery of Lantau Island in Hong Kong.

The round trip of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Tour covers a distance of about 60 kilometers, with a total duration of approximately 140 minutes, including a 60-minute car tour, and an 80-minute-or-so island visit. Professional guiding services are provided during the car tour and within the Blue Dolphin Island Exhibition Hall.

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a mega sea-crossing passage jointly built by the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. It spans 55 kilometers, with a designed service life of 120 years and a total investment of around 120 billion yuan (around 16.6 billion U.S. dollars). The construction of the bridge started in December 2009 after the preliminary work began in August 2003. It took a total of 15 years from preparation to completion and was officially opened for operation in October 2018.

The trial tour is exclusively open to Chinese mainland residents holding valid ID cards, as well as Hong Kong and Macao residents on the Chinese mainland with valid Exit-Entry Permits.
