On November 20, dancers from the Guangdong Modern Dance Company (GMDC) will present a brand new modern dance work "Weng Weng Dan Dan (滃滃澹澹)" in Guangzhou. If you are a modern dance fan, don't miss out on our ticket giveaways at the end of this article.
This show will be staged at the Guangdong Friendship Theater on the evening of November 20. It is choreographed by Shi Xuan and Zhou Niannian, two accomplished modern dancers who used to be members of the Sasha Waltz & Guests troupe in Germany. They are the founding dancers of GMDC and the first generation of dancers after the founding of the troupe. Audiences can get a first look at the cooperative performance between founding dancers and current members of GMDC this time.

In addition, the dance work is divided into two parts and presented in different forms, both of which can evoke a strong resonance on the spiritual level. When viewed together, the two parts express the overall creative concept. If viewed separately, they are also interesting and meaningful. Such arrangements are rare among original modern dance works in China.
