Profound Sounds: An Exhibition of Guqin Art and Culture (大音希声——古琴艺术与文化展)

Guqin, a plucked seven-string Chinese musical instrument with a history of over 3,000 years, has traditionally been favoured by scholars and literati as a symbol of elegance.

From May 17 to August 21, 2022, the exhibition will display 22 rare guqins from the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as some paintings and calligraphy, ancient books and stationery. People can feel the unique art of music and explore the indissoluble bond between guqin and Chinese literati.

Time: May 17 to August 21, 2022 (closed on Mondays)

Solemn and Inclusive: Chinese Shuilu Painting Art Exhibition (庄严万象:中国水陆画艺术精品展)

Shuilu paintings are often found in the Buddhist religion depicting grand religious rituals. This exhibition showcases 70 representative shuilu paintings from museums across the country, with precious cultural relics accounting for nearly 70% of the exhibits, including 11 first-class cultural relics.

Time: Until July 17, 2022 (closed on Mondays)

Brilliance of the Silk Road: The Joint Exhibition of Guangdong and Gansu (丝路光华:粤陇文物精品联展)

The exhibition introduces the history and origin of the Hexi Corridor in Gansu province and Tonghaiyi Waterway in Guangzhou. More than 500 pieces of cultural relics from Guangdong and Gansu are showcased at the exhibition, many of which are making their debut in Guangdong.

Foshan Shiwan Ceramic sculpture Zodiac Cultural exhibition in Year of the Tiger(福虎添翼——佛山石湾陶塑虎年生肖文化展)

This exhibition, hosted by Guangdong Museum and Yingde Museum, displays a total of 70 pieces (sets) of real objects in chronological order from primitive society to modern society. With Foshan Shiwan ceramic sculptures, paper cuttings, pictures and text, it explains the rich connotation of tiger culture and the Chinese zodiac, as well as various folk customs related to the tiger.

Tour Exhibition: Protection and restoration of cultural relics and artworks 存真•传承——文物艺术品保护修复巡回展

Hosted by Guangdong Museum and organized by Shaoguan Museum, the exhibition introduces some cases and stories about the restored cultural relics and artworks in Guangdong. People can see exhibits both restored and awaiting restoration, including pottery, bronzes, tiles, porcelain, enamel, wood carvings, books, embroideries and oil paintings, ranging from the Spring and Autumn Period to the present.
