With a coastline of more than 4,100 kilometers, Guangdong has plenty of beautiful islands in South China. Dong'ao Island, Zhuhai (珠海东澳岛)

Zhuhai is hailed as the City of Romance for its long coastline and numerous islands, and Dong'ao Island is one of the city's ten most prominent islands. Located in the center of the 104-island Wanshan Archipelago, Dong'ao Island has 15 kilometers of coastline and a forest coverage rate of 80%.

It was settled as early as the Shang Dynasty (16th to 11th century BCE). The old castle, beacon tower, and inscriptions on precipices stand witness to historic times here. Meanwhile, there is also Miyue Park (Honeymoon Park) featuring coastal walkways, a circular pier, viewing platforms and so on, which is an ideal place for a romantic and brisk walk.

Hailing Island, Yangjiang (阳江海陵岛)

Hailing Island is one of the "Ten Most Beautiful Islands in China". It is home to the Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdong, which displays the wreckage of the ancient vessel Nanhai No. 1. Since 2003, the South China Sea Fishing Festival has been held every year on Hailing Island, where people can always enjoy fresh seafood.

Nan'ao Island, Shantou (汕头南澳岛)

Nan'ao Island, which Nan'ao County rests on, is decorated with green and luxuriant trees. A 68-kilometer highway around the Island stretches along the blue sea and silver beach. Along the highway, tourists will find various coastal scenic spots, lighthouses, historical villages, B&Bs, and other tourist attractions, as well as several restaurants offering local specialties.

Shangchuan Island, Jiangmen (江门上川岛)

Shangchuan Island is the largest island off the coast of the province. Beaches, sunset in the Shadi fishing harbor, mangrove forest, and mountains welcome tourists from all over the world all year round. In addition, thousands of macaques inhabit the dense natural secondary forests in the north of the island!

Wailingding Island, Zhuhai (珠海外伶仃岛)

Wailingding Island is a national 4A-Level scenic spot on the eastern side of the Pearl River Estuary. Tourist attractions include the Lovers Avenue Scenic Spot, Stone Park, rock carvings, the North Emperor statue with the Morning Bell nearby, Lingding Peak, and fine beaches at Lingding, Tawan, and Dadong bays.

Guishan Island, Zhuhai (珠海桂山岛)

The island is home to parks, Guishan Lighthouse, seaview pavilions, hiking trails, and fish rafts. The dark green vegetation, the blue seawater, and the exposed rocks on the seashore form a picturesque scene that seems to come from Hayao Miyazaki's animations.

Changqin Island, previously known as Sanjiao Island, is the first uninhabited island in China developed under the "public welfare + tourism" model. A series of water leisure sports are available on the island, such as jet skis, kayaks, hydroflight sports, and electric surfboards. Furthermore, from this island, you can look out over the beautiful view of Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and Macao in good weather.
