GSO establishes online special music section on QQ Music

On April 8, a special music section of Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (GSO) was officially launched on QQ Music, marking GSO as the first classical music institution to establish such a section on the platform.

"This music section is a 24-hour online concert hall," said Chen Qing, head of the GSO, at the press conference.

The first batch of works in the section includes some live recordings of GSO's concerts, as well as five music lists including "official background music of Canton Tower", "wedding symphony", "classic waltz", "Russian ballet" and "parent-child classical music". Meanwhile, the "online music season" column updated on CSO's official WeChat account "广州交响乐团" (ID: guangzhousymphony) has also been synchronized in this special music section.

In addition to audio sharing, a variety of GSO's concert videos are provided for users to appreciate.

This is the second collaboration between the GSO and QQ Music, following the launch of the "symphony metro train" on Line 18 in January 2022. "Online distribution of classical music needs platforms like QQ Music to bring it all together and send it around the world," Chen said.

In recent years, GSO has cooperated with many cultural and tourism landmarks in Guangzhou, such as the "music terminal" in Baiyun Airport and the background music in Canton Tower and Haixin Bridge. "These collaborations can help promote cultural tourism in the Guangdong-Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and bring classical music to citizens," said Chen.
