Enjoy fun activities in Guangzhou during National Day holiday

During the National Day holiday, major attractions in Guangzhou will jointly launch a barrage of splendid National Day celebration activities.

Grandview Mall

Grandview Mall (正佳广场) has thoughtfully prepared over a hundred cultural and tourism activities, integrating Chinese fashion shows, diverse theatrical performances, special exhibitions, pet interactions, trendy entertainment experiences, and more, presenting a series of vibrant artistic feasts for residents of the GBA. Additionally, the second Grandview Planet Art Carnival is in full swing, and the 2024 Guangzhou International Shopping Festival officially opened on the evening of September 29.

Guangzhou Opera House

During the National Day holiday, Guangzhou Opera House (广州大剧院) will present several excellent repertory works, including the premiere of the large-scale symphonic opera: I Love You, China and the immersive comic opera Le Docteur Miracle. I Love You, China, planned by Xinghai Conservatory of Music and jointly produced by Guangzhou Opera House, will have its grand premiere at Guangzhou Opera House on the evenings of October 5 and 6.

Yuyin Shanfang Garden

During the National Day holiday, Yuyin Shanfang Garden (余荫山房) features an elite orchid exhibition combined with a variety of cultural activities such as immersive martial arts flash mobs, ancient-style performances, garden parties, orchid knowledge lectures, and intangible cultural heritage cloisonné enamel experiences. This allows citizens and tourists to enjoy the scenery and orchids, watch martial arts and listen to music, and have fun exploring the garden. From October 1 to October 7, visitors who purchase a full-price ticket once will enjoy a 20% discount (i.e., 14 yuan per person), and visitors whose birthday falls on National Day can enter the garden for free.

Baomo Garden

At the 7th Panyu Water-color Tourism Culture Festival in Baomo Garden (宝墨园), a large-scale landscape live-action parade performance themed "Journey to the West: Myths and Water-color Splendor" will be presented. Classic characters such as the Monkey King Sun Wukong will appear, complementing the magic show at Mount Huaguo of Nanyue Garden, presenting visitors with a double feast blending traditional and trendy cultures.

South China National Botanical Garden

The South China National Botanical Garden (华南国家植物园) will hold the Rose on the Tip of the Tongue and Edible Plants Exhibition. While enjoying the beautiful flowers, visitors can also taste delicious dishes made from edible plants and experience a unique food culture.

Yuntai Garden

Yuntai Garden (云台花园) will blend traditional intangible cultural heritage with popular Chinese animation IPs to create a cat-themed carnival through a grand light exhibition. The event will feature 105 adorable cat-shaped lanterns, alongside unique light shows, laser shows, immersive light shows, and diverse NPC performances.

Guangdong Culture Center

The exhibition "If History is a Bunch of Meow–Works by Feizhi" will showcase content related to the comic series If History is a Bunch of Meow and the "Encyclopedia of Feizhi" section designed to popularize interesting knowledge through comics. Additionally, there will be a reading and merchandise area where young visitors can freely explore the two comic series as well as related cultural merchandise. During the exhibition, a series of interactive events such as a LEGO building competition, comic classes, and anime screenings will take place.

Bai'etan Branch of Guangdong Museum of Art 

The exhibition "The Eternal Warmth: Selected Works Donated by the Ludwig Couple to the National Art Museum of China" features 55 highly significant works by world-renowned artists, including Picasso, Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Gerhard Richter, David Hockney, and Georg Baselitz. These works not only display the richness of artistic styles in the 20th century from multiple perspectives but also vividly illustrate the transformation of global art trends and the evolution of socio-cultural thoughts. In 1996, the Ludwig couple, famous German art collectors and distinguished art historians, generously donated 89 international artworks (117 pieces) to the National Art Museum of China.
