On March 25th, BYD emerged as the world's first brand to produce 7 million new energy vehicles, breaking the record once again. The Denza N7 model, the latest addition to this achievement, debuted at its factory in Jinan.
Since May 2021, when BYD celebrated the birth of its 1 millionth new energy vehicle, it took less than 3 years to reach the significant milestone of 7 million vehicles. This accomplishment not only demonstrates the rapid growth of Chinese brands but also spearheads the transformation of the automotive industry.
In 2023, BYD witnessed the annual sale of 3.02 million vehicles, continuing its reign as the global leader in new energy vehicle sales. Following last year's launch of champion edition models "priced equivalently to Gas",BYD introduced honor edition models "priced lower than Gas" in February. This success is attributed to BYD's economies of scale and advantages across the entire industry chain.
China's weekly penetration rate for new energy vehicles has now surpassed 48.2%, reaching a historic high. It is projected that the penetration rate will exceed 50% in the next 3 months. Moreover, BYD holds 7 out of the top 10 positions in the passenger car sales chart for the third week of this month.
BYD is making significant strides in global expansion, entering 78 countries and regions. It has established factories in Brazil, Hungary, Thailand, and other overseas regions, emerging as a "new testimony" to China's manufacturing prowess. This year, BYD is set to sponsor the UEFA Euro 2024, marking the first appearance of a new energy vehicle brand at the event.
