The 6th China Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo kicked off on September 6 and will last for two days in Dunhuang, a major hub on the ancient Silk Road in Northwest China's Gansu province. More than 1,200 guests from countries like China, Turkmenistan, Madagascar, and Croatia as well as representatives of UNESCO attended the opening ceremony.
Turkmenistan is the guest of honor this year, and a special exhibition hall is set up on-site to hold cultural and artistic events, as well as product showcases.
Themed "Connect the World: Cultural Exchange and Mutual Learning Between Civilizations", the two-day expo features forums, exhibitions, and art performances. Visitors can enjoy the cultural relics, artworks, and merchandise along the Belt and Road routes, as well as a range of performing arts events including the Flying Apsaras musical concert, a folk concert, and a gala with global artists.
Furthermore, economic cooperation fairs and seminars on the radio and television sector will also be held during the event.
Since the beginning of 2016, the Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo has been held five times. It is a major national-level comprehensive event themed on international cultural exchanges among countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
