GDToday On Spot | A Kazakh volunteer in the China-Central Asia Summit:I like Chinese culture since I was a kid

“I think the China-Central Asia Summit will promote economic exchanges between China and other Central Asian countries and help economic recovery,” said Aiza, a Kazakh student studying at Xi'an Shiyou University and volunteered to be an interpreter in the China-Central Asia Summit.

Aiza has lived in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, for six years. “Xi’an is my favorite city in China. And I like Guangzhou as well. I went to Guangzhou in January, when Xi’an was so cold. The weather in Guangzhou at that time was so nice. So, I like being there,” said Aiza.

In the Summit, Aiza also tried the Fengxiang Clay Figurines by herself. “This is a very ancient culture from Shaanxi of China. It’s so interesting,” Aiza intruduced.

Aiza said that she has been interested in Chinese culture since she was a kid. “I’m very interested in Chinese culture, because I’m amazed by its richness and especially traditional Chinese dances, which is stunning!” Aiza shared.

According to Chinadaily.com, on May 17, President Xi Jinping and visiting Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a joint statement in which the two nations agreed to promote cooperation on transportation to stabilize industry and supply chains, including steps to explore building a third cross-border railway line and constructing new railway border ports.

During their talks, Xi also urged quicker steps from both sides to establish cultural centers in each other's country and to use the introduction of a visa-free regime to promote people-to-people exchanges.

“China and Kazakhstan have seen close ties and done trade since the ancient Silk Road, covering a wide range of goods. Now, the Summit will enrich the goods that are traded between the two countries. I’m looking forward to see the updated policies on easing requirements for entry visas between China and Kazakhstan, because I can show my family members around Xi’an more easily,” said Aiza.
