The 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit concluded in Beijing on September 6th. With the theme "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future," leaders from both regions gathered to strengthen ties and explore new collaborations.
Théophile Niyitegeka, a Rwandan correspondent attending his first FOCAC, shared his thoughts on the evolving China-Africa partnership: "I look forward to seeing how both regions commit to shaping a shared destiny for mutual benefit."
Niyitegeka also drew parallels between Rwanda and China, emphasizing their resilience and homegrown solutions to overcoming challenges. "Both countries are working together to elevate their futures," he noted.
