Dozens of US students are on a visit to multiple cities in China from March 17 to 27 to experience Chinese culture and technology and continue the friendship between the people of the two countries.
In Beijing, they visited landmarks such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. "I was so excited as I've never experienced this and I feel like it is such a cool thing," said Yuti Thakor, a student from Steilacoom High School. Beyond Beijing, the Washington group also visited Shiyan in central China's Hubei Province, as well as Guangzhou and Shenzhen in south China's Guangdong Province.
During the trip to Guangzhou, they visited Yongqingfang, and Jinan University, among others. They experienced traditional Chinese culture like calligraphy and paper cuttings. The participants said the trip meant a connection to them. They've been able to make friends here in China and get close to their Chinese friends.
