On July 2nd, Igor Ivanov, president of the Russian International Affairs Council and former Russian Foreign Minister and former Russian Foreign Minister, delivered a speech themed the Evolution of Multilateralism at the 11th World Peace Forum in Beijing.
At a press conference, he answered the question on the settlement of Russia-Ukraine conflict from a GDToday reporter.
He pointed out that the Russia-Ukraine conflict is' on the high level', but there is practically no dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv.
He believed that the participation of third parts is needed to start any kind of dialogue for settlements. The participation of several countries, including China, will be very important. China presented the plan for the settlement of this conflict and it was well received in Moscow.
“Sometimes we need patience and quite a lot of meetings with both sides to find some points from which we can start the dialogue or settlement. BRICS countries have strong authority and are well-accepted in both countries in this area. They all can be crucial in this stage of the conflict,"said Ivanov.
