“After inspecting our goods, the Customs suggested us to use waterway transportation and the goods were rapidly shipped to Hong Kong through Panyu and Nanhai ports. Relevant departments have done a good job in coordinating the ports and shipping services, so the shipments can have “zero delays” in the whole process of the customs clearance,” said Lin Weifang, general manager of Guangdong General Medicine Co., Ltd.

Since the recent epidemic outbreak in Hong Kong, every port under the administration of Guangzhou Customs has strengthened the communication with the port operators, logistics companies, freight forwarders and cargo owners on the spot to immediately know their supplies and clearance demands to Hong Kong.

Emergency shipments like fresh frozen food and medical equipment were given priority in the rapid customs clearance. The port also coordinated the shipping companies and docks to ensure anti-epidemic resources arrive at Hong Kong as soon as possible.

“To ensure a stable and speedy goods supply to Hong Kong, Qingyuan Customs has established an emergency support team to provide 24-hour customs clearance service and professional guidance on a one-by-one basis”, said the Customs authorities.

In the following days, there will be more anti-epidemic supplies and consumer goods to be shipped from Qingyuan Port to Hong Kong.
