At the end of the longest Spring Festival holiday, the Guangzhou Metro saw a small peak in return journeys. Statistics indicate that during the 2024 Spring Festival holiday, the total passenger volume of the Guangzhou Metro reached 39.897 million, with a daily average of 4.987 million.

On the first working day after the holiday (February 18), the single-day metro passenger volume in Guangzhou rose to 7.56 million people. According to the Guangzhou Metro, passenger flow is expected to gradually exceed 8 million this week and return to a daily volume of over 9 million next week.
Data reveals that Guangzhou is among the top three popular tourist destinations during the Spring Festival. On New Year's Eve (February 9), the metro passenger volume was 3.631 million.

Due to fireworks displays, drone performances, and New Year cultural and tourism activities in major scenic spots, the cumulative passenger numbers of individual metro lines are as follows: 7.567 million passengers on Line 3 (including the northern extension), followed by 5.987 million on Line 2, and 4.811 million on Line 1.
The total passenger flow at Tiyu Xilu and Gongyuanqian (体育西路站、公园前站), two stations near significant business districts, surged to first and second place, with 2.101 million and 1.741 million passengers respectively. As an important transportation hub, Guangzhou South Railway Station ranked third, with 1.475 million passengers.
