Typhoon Wutip prompts train suspensions and route adjustments in Guangdong

According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, Typhoon Wutip, the first typhoon of 2025, is likely to make landfall along the coast from Lingshui to Ledong in Hainan between early morning and morning on June 13, followed by a second landfall along the coast of western Guangdong to Guangxi during the day on June 14.

To ensure the safety of passenger train operations, the China Railway Guangzhou Group adjusted train operations by modifying routes or suspending certain services for some trains on the Guangzhou-Maoming Railway, Shenzhen-Zhanjiang Railway, and Hainan Ring High-Speed Railway.

As of 18:00 on June 11, the railway transportation adjustments were announced as follows:

Some trains on the Hainan Ring High-Speed Railway will be suspended from June 11 to 12. All D-series high-speed trains will be suspended from 16:00 on June 12 to 8:00 on June 14.

Some D-series high-speed trains on the Shenzhen-Zhanjiang Railway will be suspended on June 13.

From 8:00 on June 13, some ordinary-speed passenger trains traveling between Zhanjiang, Kunming, and Guangzhou, Shenzhen on the Guangzhou-Maoming Railway will be suspended.

The operational sections of some cross-sea ordinary-speed trains to Hainan will be adjusted from June 11 to 12, and their departure and arrival stations will be changed to Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station.

The railway authorities will continue to adjust train operations based on the evolving impact of the typhoon.
