'Ballet on blue sky': AERO Asia show kicks off in Zhuhai

The 2023 AERO Asia show, a four-day event, took place in Zhuhai on November 23th. This aviation exhibition will showcase the latest technological products and achievements in the field of general aviation, while also providing spectators with thrilling aerial performances.

Recently, reporters visited the site in advance for a sneak peek and witnessed foreign flight performance teams undergoing adaptative flights upon arrival. John Doe, a pilot from the European team Fly-by Knights, said, "This performance involves the formation flying of aircraft, which is how we start our show. Being able to witness flights climb vertically and descend in absolute precision together is a surprise we have in store for the audience."

Apart from Fly-by Knights, this year's show also invited the Sunward Aerobatic Team from Hunan and female aerobatic pilots from the Fulai Aviation Club to deliver captivating performances lasting 70 minutes each day.

In addition to the breathtaking aerial displays, the 2023 aviation show has set up a static exhibition area covering a total area of 40,000 square meters that is divided into indoor and outdoor sections. It has attracted over 250 global exhibitors, presenting more than 90 aircraft, including business jets, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the responsible person for the 2023 AERO Asia show, it is worth paying attention to many aircraft in the static exhibition area, such as the NF Explorer, dubbed the "airborne pick-up truck", which is being showcased to the public for the first time. The show will host nearly 20 interactive events centered around the latest frontier technologies in the field of general aviation.

Starting this year, Zhuhai will host the AERO Asia show in odd-numbered years, echoing the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition being held biennially to foster a pattern of "two aviation shows" in China.
