For many travelers, discovering the "real" China had to be done by train, watching the landscape slowly unfold, eating pot-noodles at each meal and bringing back fun stories of the inevitable 3 hours stop in the middle of nowhere at 3 o'clock in the morning. All that is now about to change with the launch of one of the world's fastest trains between Wuhan-Guangzhou.

The Wuhan-Guangzhou Special Train will be put into operation by the end of this year, after successful trial operations during the Chinese National Day golden week. Running on a special high-speed line, the trains can reach up to 350 kilometers per hour, therefore shortening the journey from the current ten and a half hours to only 3 hours.
