With a 36 year history, the former Canton Fair exhibition center, the Liuhua Exhibition Centre, bid its farewell to its pioneering beginnings two years ago and will re-open for business with a complete new face after renovations are completed in this October.

The Grandbuy Group is the "new owner" with 10-years of retailing experience in China, and is re-positioning the Liuhua Exhibition Center to be an exhibition and trading platform for high fashion. At present, nine international brands have signed contracts to settle there including GUCCI. It is expected more than 1,000 first-line fashion brands will be settled here when the Liuhua Exhibition Center re-open.

In line with this comprehensive transformation, the Liuhua Exhibition Center will undergo a complete name change to "China Guangzhou International Apparel Trade and Exhibition Centre". The business area is up to 150,000 square meters, consisting of a general commercial area and a special exhibitions area. The commercial areas will mainly deal with clothing, leather goods and shoes.

"The new center combines both wholesaling and retailing together," stated Xun Zhenying, the chairman of Grandbuy, "in the next 10 years we will witness Liuhua Exhibition Center's transformation to a high-end international trade and exhibition center of well-known fashion brands home and abroad. It will also introduce brands created by independent designers to promote original design and cutting-edge technology.

Fashion Week of Guangdong Province, which is held twice a year, has also settle there. It is believed that many other international fashion brands are currently in the process of negotiation with the new owners.
