Changdi Damalu Arcade houses

Changdi Damalu Qilou is located on the northern bank of the Pearl River, connecting with Yanjiang West Road.

The Qilou streets there combine the natural and cultural environmental advantages of the Pearl River banks.

It is a landmark within the scenery of Guangzhou City as it displays the rich traditional local culture and offers a relaxing recreational atmosphere. There are many cosmopolitan businesses such as European-style bars, coffee houses, and small Western-style restaurants.

Contemporary and modern architectures such as the Aiqun Hotel, Yong-antang Drug Store, the old site of the central bank, Riverside Hotel, Haizhu Bridge, the Workers’ Statue Square, and Tianzi Harbor are located around the Changdi Damalu Arcade Houses.

The mixture of modern and traditional architectures reveals the inclusiveness and openness of Lingnan culture.

Aiqun Hotel, located in Yanjiang Road, is a cultural relic protected by Guangzhou city. Its unique architectural style resembles the skyscrapers in the United States. It is elegant, clean, concise and harmonious. During the 1930s, it was known as the most beautiful architecture in Guangzhou. The media said it ushered in a new era of high-rise buildings in the city.
