InPics | ShenZhong Link opens, constructor representatives are there to witness

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, a mega cross-sea passage in South China that features two bridges, two artificial islands, and an underwater tunnel, opened to traffic at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 30.

Spanning 24 km, the link drastically reduces travel time between the city of Zhongshan and the technology hub of Shenzhen, situated on opposite sides of the Pearl River Estuary in Guangdong Province. It cuts the duration of the trip from two hours to around 30 minutes.

After 7 years of preparation and 7 years of construction, more than 15,000 builders created a global marvel of a cross-sea link.

On that day, 400 builders and their family members visited the Link among the first batch of visitors to this cross-sea megaproject.
