On December 15th, an interesting garden party was held at the Yangcheng Creative Industry Zone in the northern area of Guangzhou International Finance Center, attracting visitors with its colorful activities such as the open-air music festivals, Cantonese opera performances, cosplay parades, creative stalls, and intangible cultural heritage handmaking activity.
Ignites creativity with "Chinese Fashion Trend"
As a major theme of this event, "Guochao", or "China Chic" has given the night market a unique charm. From traditional tea ceremonies, calligraphies and paintings, and delicate hairpins, to intangible cultural heritage crafts, various creative goods abound in every corner you see. Staff and visitors dressed in Hanfu and cheongsam, have also added an authentic ancient Chinese atmosphere to the market.
Accompanied by the melodious Cantonese opera music, Mrs. Tan from the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Theater gracefully moves with the rhythm, waving her sleeves on one side of the pavilion. She expressed that she usually performs on stage, and this was her first time participating in an offstage performance, which made her feel good to have closer contact with the audience.
At the stall of Ren Dong Anime Club from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, there are scented sachets, calligraphies, paintings, scrolls, and couplets. The responsible student introduced to the reporter the scented sachets with the functions of flu preventing, calming, and mosquito repelling. He mentioned, "In such a lively night market, we want to promote the traditional Chinese medicine culture on behalf of our school."
Besides, visitors to the park can also receive the blessing of wealth. Mr. Chen from the Ren Dong Anime Club dressed up as the God of Wealth, creating a festive atmosphere with the shining gold ingots in hand. "The new year is just around the corner, so I'm playing the role of the God of Wealth to bring blessings to everyone and to add more holiday atmosphere. I hope everyone can have a great time here."
Companies participate to add different charms
At the night market, companies from different fields were also showcasing their trump cards. From brand new delicacies, and creative cultural products to lifestyle services, they have managed to bring different experiences to the audience.
At the stall of KuGou Music, people were allured by the beautiful voices. Various activities, such as forwarding posts on the media platform Little Red Book to receive local delicacies and singing competitions for lucky draw, were held to promote their brand.
It is reported that the current garden party featuring live action role playing games, intangible cultural heritage, contemporary art exhibitions, and creative markets, is aimed to further promote Guangzhou's "night economy" while creating a trendy playground for the young people.
