Originated in 1985, the 2023 Guangzhou International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament is a long-established and popular traditional dragon boat race in Guangzhou. The Tournament consists of four events: traditional dragon boat 600-meter straight race, 22-person dragon boat 600-meter straight race, colorful dragon boat race and dragon boat parade.

A total of 125 dragon boat teams and nearly 5,000 athletes participated in the competition. Chinese sprinter Su Bingtian stroke the gong for the race. A team from Haizhu District won the first prize of Men's 600-meter category for 22-person dragon boats (Open Group).
