On September 17, Maoming held the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the No.1 Middle School New City Campus, marking the official launch of this major educational project.
Groundbreaking ceremony
The new campus of Maoming No.1 Middle School, located in the Gongqinghe subdistrict of Maoming New City, is a public welfare project dedicated to delivering education that meets public expectations. With a total investment of about 524 million yuan and a construction area of nearly 94,000 square meters, the first phase will include modern facilities such as teaching buildings, a library, a gymnasium, and student dormitories.
According to Wei Xingyun, project manager from China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd., the first phase is scheduled for completion in September 2026. Once finished, it will enroll 3,000 high-quality high school students, advancing Maoming's goal of strengthening education and meeting the aspirations of the community.

According to the plan, the second phase of the Maoming No.1 Middle School New City Campus will add primary and junior high school sections, creating a continuous education system from grades 1 to 12.
