"Impressed, convinced, and satisfied," lauded Rastami Mouhidine, Executive Secretary for Anjouan, the Convention for the Renewal of the Comoros, during his visit to EHang, a Guangzhou-based company and a leading developer of advanced air mobility technology platforms.
A delegation composed of 15 members led by Mouhidine from the Convention for the Renewal of the Comoros visited Guangzhou from April 21 to 22. During their two-day visit of local exhibition center, tech firm and culture sites, members were stunned by the technological prowess and cultural heritage of the city.

"We seek to develop Comoros within framework of modern technology"
The delegation went to the Huangpu District Planning Exhibition Hall on the afternoon of April 21 to learn about the development of the district.
"I prefer that our country start developing within the framework of modern technology, which means communication, healthcare system, and also infrastructure renovations (upgrading)," noted Mouhidine after seeing the whole exhibition.
Following the exhibition, the delegation visited EHang and was impressed by its pilotless electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
According to He Tianxing, Vice President of EHang, the company has established a well-structured global development model, focusing on countries with coastlines or island geographies. Its aircraft can operate across a wide range of scenarios, including inter-island travel, transportation, tourism, sightseeing, logistics, emergency rescue, and disaster relief. All of its aircraft are electric, making them environmentally friendly for island countries such as the Comoros.

Given the small land area of the Comoros, it is quite challenging to construct transportation infrastructure such as railways and highways, as they are less practical. In He's view, small cargo and passenger aircraft would be different.
He detailed the advantages of eVTOL aircraft in this island country. First, as long as a safe zone is planned and designed on the island, takeoffs and landings can be carried out at any time with a relatively small area.
Second, the transportation route can connect the main critical nodes of various islands, making urban travel very convenient for tourists visiting the Comoros, domestic consumers, and even government officials on official business.
Finally, the costs are very low, including construction, future aircraft operation, and aircraft manufacturing. EHang has developed a mature cooperation model, ensuring product safety and providing excellent international after-sales service.
"This is an excellent way to promote new transportation models to an island country such as the Comoros," the Vice President of EHang concluded.
Notably, He also expressed the hope that President Azali Assoumani could have the opportunity to visit EHang during a future visit to China. "If the President wishes, he can ride in our aircraft to experience low-altitude unmanned flight in person."
Regarding the candid invitation, Oihairi Said Ridhioini, Member of the National Committee of the Convention for the Renewal of the Comoros, noted that she was sure the President would also be very pleased to come and experience it.
The President is highly ambitious to transform the Comoros into an emerging country. "I am confident that he will also have the ambition to adopt this type of transportation and implement it in our country to benefit its inhabitants," added Ridhioini.

Guangzhou is a dazzling city with rich and well-preserved history
The delegation visited Yongqing Fang on their second day in Guangzhou. Strolling on these century-old alleyways, the delegation members felt the long and rich history of Guangzhou.
Bruce Lee Ancestral Home was very popular among the members, who constantly took photos posing like the world-renowned Kung Fu movie star. Also, the costumes and live performances at Cantonese Opera Art Museum captured the members' attention.
"The cultural sites in Guangzhou that greatly impressed us have a very rich and well-preserved history," noted Ahamadi Saindou, Member of Assembly of the Union of the Comoros.

He found Guangzhou a dazzling city, a city of the future, a city that is evolving more and more.
"We also have the culture, the form of construction, the arts, you see the shape of the roads, really all of that impressed us, but we know that it wasn't really done in a single day. It's cumulative," he added.
According to him, Comoros is known for aromatic products such as ylang-ylang, vanilla and cloves, which could become a bridge for trade and people-to-people exchanges with China. "Our cooperation with China will be very strong indeed," he added.
