The 139th Canton Fair commenced its festivities with a grand opening reception at the Canton Fair Convention Center in Guangzhou on the evening of April 14.
Distinguished guests gracing the occasion included high-ranking officials and global trade leaders: Zhang Li, assistant minister of commerce of China; Zhang Guozhi, vice governor of Guangdong Province, and Peya Mushelenga, Namibia's minister of international relations and cooperation.
The reception brought together approximately 390 elites, encompassing Consuls General in Guangzhou and senior executives from leading multinational corporations.
Hosted by Zhu Yong, director general of the China Foreign Trade Centre, the event highlighted the fair's pivotal role in advancing China's newly launched 15th Five-Year Plan objectives.
In his keynote address, Zhang Li emphasized that the 139th edition closely aligns with the latest trends of new, intelligent, and green development in China's foreign trade.
Representing the host province, Zhang Guozhi remarked on the fair's 70-year legacy of uninterrupted excellence.
The event also featured presence from long-term participating buyers and exhibitors, underscoring the fair's impact on corporate growth.
