On April 22, at the 2026 Foshan Ancient Town High-Quality Cultural and Tourism Development Conference, the South-Foshan Ancient Town International Communication Hub, jointly established by Zumiao Sub-district of Chancheng District, Foshan City, and Nanfang Media Group, was inaugurated. At the same time, the South-Foshan Ancient Town Channel was unveiled.

This marks the official launch of Guangdong's first sub-district-level international communication hub and external publicity channel.
As the central urban area of Foshan, Chancheng District is not only home to a millennium-old Lingnan cultural heritage but also at the forefront of reform and opening up. It is both a major economic district with thriving industries and an internationally renowned cultural district. Traditional cultures such as Cantonese Opera, Kung Fu, Lion Dance, the Ancestral Temple and the Foshan Qiuse Festival are famous at home and abroad.
"Foshan is one of the most iconic places in Lingnan; the Ancient Town is one of the most iconic places in Foshan." As an important birthplace of Lingnan Guangfu culture, Foshan Ancient Town has been endowed with an open and international spirit for thousands of years. As early as the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was known as one of the "Four Famous Towns" and one of the four major business hubs. Its industry and commerce flourished, attracting merchants from all over the world, and it maintained frequent exchanges with overseas countries through the Maritime Silk Road.

As the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area accelerates its transformation into a world-class tourist destination and Foshan steps up efforts to build a premium cultural tourism area, Chancheng District has proposed promoting Foshan Ancient Town for inscription on the World Cultural Heritage list.
The South-Foshan Ancient Town International Communication Hub will focus on urban image promotion and help build an international IP for Foshan Ancient Town.
