The Foshan Ancestral Temple Fair opened with a grand parade on April 19. The parade featured multiple national-level intangible cultural heritage elements, including lion dance, dragon dance, Piaose (floating-color parade floats), and Yingge dance.

Ten grand parade contingents advanced in an awe-inspiring procession. Over 30,000 visitors came to watch, packing every corner around the Ancestral Temple.

This year's fair moves beyond the traditional spectator format, offering an immersive experience that combines sightseeing, play, shopping, and hands-on making.

The Beidi (Northern Emperor) Parade features a range of interactive performances that add to the festive atmosphere. The Wong Fei-hung (Feihong) Themed Food Street offers authentic Cantonese delicacies such as double skin milk. A Guochao (China-chic) market hosts blessing rituals, blind boxes, and other China-chic activities, giving traditional customs fresh appeal for younger audiences and weaving them into engaging, everyday experiences.

This traditional Foshan folk event delivered a fully immersive experience, bringing Foshan's millennium-old cultural heritage to life and showcasing the contemporary vitality of traditional Chinese culture.
