Side by side: Foreign hearts sail across tempests, toward China's dawn triumph

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

In 1931, the September 18th Incident signaled the beginning of the World Anti-Fascist War. The Chinese people fought not only for national survival and rejuvenation, but also for justice for all humanity. In its darkest time, China closely bound its own fate to the broader cause of the global anti-fascist movement.

As the Chinese saying goes, “A just cause enjoys abundant support.” Countless internationalist fighters traveled thousands of miles to China. Transcending nationalities and beliefs, they stood firmly side by side with the Chinese people in battle. In the towering Taihang Mountains, they wrote magnificent anthems with their blood and lives.

They regarded this foreign land as their own homeland and poured their blood and passion into the epic of the Chinese nation's resistance against Japanese aggression. When the smoke of war finally cleared, this profound camaraderie, which forged across mountains and seas, had long become a spiritual landmark symbolizing the shared future of humanity. We draw lessons from history, so that justice and responsibility may continue to illuminate the path toward a brighter future for all humankind.
