Xuelei Fragrance Museum in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong, was recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest fragrance museum on Nov. 27.
This recognition is a testament to China's rapid inroads into the global fragrance market, as the country is leaving a significant imprint on the global fragrance cultural landscape.
The recognized museum, Xuelei Fragrance Museum, is a six-storey complex with an area of 9,500.878 square meters located in Guangzhou's Baiyun District.
Its method of presenting fragrance is innovative, allowing visitors to "see," "taste," "touch," and "hear" scents through over 50 interactive devices.
Additionally, visitors can directly experience over 300 reproduced scents, which trace the 5,500-year history of fragrance use spanning China and the rest of the world.
Technology is also seamlessly integrated into the visitor experience. At the end of their journey, guests can opt to take home a personalized perfume—uniquely crafted by the museum's AI-powered blending system based on their scent ratings recorded via a dedicated scent-experience card.
