"Hello, Canton Fair" sings a story of global buyers

At the Music & Cuisine Festival of the 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), a song titled "Hello, Canton Fair" was performed. The lyrics vividly capture how the Canton Fair serves as both a "bridge" connecting global trade and a "bond" deepening human connections.

The song was written by Lu Zhongguang and composed by Ren Gang and Yang Dan, inspired by the true stories of Zhang Hao from Bangladesh and Kevin from Morocco, two international students in Guangzhou who became seasoned Canton Fair buyers.

The lyrics portray the Canton Fair as a link between China and the world:

"From Bluetooth earphones to smart factories, from all corners of the globe to dazzling showcases."

This bridge not only carries the strides of Chinese innovation into global markets but also nurtures a lasting bond of friendship.

Each line captures the genuine taste and texture of life in Guangzhou.

"Take me through the alleys for flavors; my favorite is the slow-simmered soup,"

"Pearl River Beer hits just right, and dim sum has endless delights."

Lines such as,

"Take me through the alleys for flavors; my favorite is the slow-simmered soup,"

"Pearl River Beer hits just right, and dim sum has endless delights,"

capture the genuine taste and rhythm of everyday life in Guangzhou.

Other lyrics like,

  "Different tastes, yet hearts connect,"

"Translator Xiao Li, the foodie's best partner"

depict the warm friendships formed among people from diverse cultures in the city.

The chorus,

"Hello Canton Fair, Hello Guangzhou. Wherever my heart rests, there is my home."

conveys emotions that transcend business, echoing the Canton Fair's enduring spirit as a bond of friendship and a bridge of trade.
