Senegalese delegation impressed by Foshan's blend of tradition and modernity

A delegation of Senegalese officials visited Guangdong Province from March 24 to 26, inspecting sites that showcase tradition, history, and modern technology.

The delegation was from Senegal's ruling PASTEF party - the African Patriots of Senegal for Work, Ethics and Fraternity (French: Patriotes africains du Sénégal pour le travail, l'éthique et la fraternité; PASTEF).

They visited sites such as Zumiao, one of Foshan's most famous tourist landmarks, innovative organizations like Guangdong Industrial Design City, and leading manufacturing companies such as KEDA.

Mohamed Ayib Salim DAFFE, Secretary-General of Senegal's PASTEF, told South that he was impressed by the city.

"Foshan is a city marked by significant economic development, with modern industries and dynamic activities," he said.

KEDA, one of the companies visited, is a major Guangdong-based manufacturer that has invested heavily in Africa, with key hubs in Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Senegal, Mozambique, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

"Overall, we are very optimistic about the relationship with Guangdong Province," DAFFE said during the visit. "We hope to welcome many more companies like this in the future."
