A Huizhou native makes history at New York City Ballet

He is Chun Wai Chan, principal dancer of the New York City Ballet.

He has been dancing for over 20 years. He has not yet created any dance combining ballet with the themes of his hometown, Huizhou, Guangdong. So this time, returning home, he wants to draw inspiration from the food and scenery of his hometown.

As an Asian, as the first Chinese principal dancer, he feels a sense of mission. Besides being himself and creating art, he hopes to use his network to cultivate the next generation.
