From the rooftop of the Raffles Tower in Shenzhen during his recent trip to China, Kishore Mahbubani took in the glittering skyline - once farmland, now a metropolis often compared to New York. Looking toward Hong Kong across the bay, he reflected on the city's journey and its upcoming role as host of APEC. "When APEC leaders come here, they'll be very impressed," he said. "What Shenzhen has accomplished can be a real source of inspiration for the world."
