The acclaimed Chinese dance drama Wing Chun will make its North American debut at Toronto's Meridian Hall on December 16, 2025, followed by a multi-week residency. The production is also scheduled to mark its 300th global performance on January 4, 2026.

Directed by award-winning choreographers Han Zhen and Zhou Liya and performed by the Shenzhen Opera & Dance Theatre, Wing Chun has earned widespread attention for its creative blend of contemporary dance and the iconic southern Chinese martial art. The show's dynamic mix of power and grace has resonated with audiences throughout its tours in Asia and beyond.

In Toronto, the production is already gaining traction across mainstream media. Toronto.com, blogTO, NOW Toronto, and Fairchild Radio have all featured the upcoming residency, highlighting the work's distinctive combination of martial arts vocabulary and theatrical movement. The Canadian lifestyle magazine NEXT also recently interviewed members of the cast, spotlighting the anticipation surrounding its arrival at Meridian Hall.
The team held a press event in North York on November 12, attended by local arts community members, cultural figures, sponsors, and media representatives. Speakers emphasized how the production brings a fresh artistic interpretation of Wing Chun to international audiences.
Promotional posters for the show have begun appearing throughout Toronto—including at Meridian Hall, on buses, in bus shelters, and across the subway system—building momentum as the premiere approaches.
