As the 138th Canton Fair unfolds (Oct 15-Nov 4), a special event titled "My Canton Fair Story" sharing session took place on October 25, 2025. This session brought together a diverse group of international buyers and Chinese exhibitors to share their unique experiences and insights, showcasing how the Canton Fair serves as a vital bridge for global trade, friendship, and innovation.
Patricia Barreiro, Sodimac China office head and representative of the World's Top 250 Retailers at the event, has attended the Canton Fair 48 times since 1998. As one of the speakers, she recounted her experiences at the Canton Fair and shared her thoughts on its changes over the past 30 years: "I remember those days when the venue felt too small for the number of people there. When the roads were poor, it took 6 hours to travel to a factory and back. Today, what they have created is because of commerce—because we all come to the world's most important country, where we find the products we need. It has been truly incredible."
