From November 28 to December 2, a delegation of 26 journalists from 11 countries embarked on an immersive tour through Guangdong, China. The visit, organized by South, blended firsthand encounters with technological frontiers, from smart, driverless transport in Guangzhou to cutting-edge tech hubs in Shenzhen, with deep cultural exchanges.
The journey culminated in the launch of the Maritime Silk Road Media Cooperation Platform during an international communication seminar, marking a formal step towards sustained dialogue and story-sharing among Global South media.
This journey wasn't just about reporting—it was about carrying home tangible lessons in sustainable development, technological leapfrogging, and cross-cultural storytelling. As one journalist put it, "We came to see firsthand what Guangdong has to offer."
