Let world hear Yangjiang's new voice: South Yangjiang Channel launched

On September 17, the launch ceremony of the South Yangjiang Channel was held in Yangjiang City. In collaboration with Nanfang Media Group, Yangjiang aims to build a new platform for international communication and a new gateway to the world, letting the city better reach out to global audiences and allowing the world to better understand Yangjiang.

As the first city on the western extension of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and an important growth driver on the west coast of the Pearl River Delta, Yangjiang positions itself as a "green energy capital" and "Maritime Silk Road City," striving to maximize synergies within the GBA.

With a rich cultural heritage, Yangjiang is renowned as the Hometown of Kites and the Hometown of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting. Its millennia-old Maritime Silk Road traditions continue through intangible cultural heritages, such as lacquerware and root carving. The city is also home to Hailing Island, one of China's most beautiful islands, and Lingxiao Rock in Yangchun, a notable geological wonder. Yangjiang has also been recognized as the International Garden City, China's Happiest City, and a Top Tourist City in China.

South has served as Guangdong's leading platform for international communication and the primary source for the world to learn about the province. Led by South, Nanfang Media Group is spearheading this effort to build a comprehensive international communication network for Guangdong, integrating provincial resources to tell the stories of China, the GBA, and Guangdong's unique experiences.

Following its launch, the South Yangjiang Channel will further focus on the city's key industries, including green energy, advanced materials, hardware manufacturing, modern agriculture, and commercial aerospace. It will also highlight cultural traditions to showcase Yangjiang's innovations, such as Maritime Silk Road heritage, lacquer art, kites, and calligraphy.
