On March 28, a group of international content creators toured Nanshan District, one of Shenzhen's most dynamic economic and tech hubs.
The event was part of the fifth "Just Shenzhen, Just Young" video contest, organized by the Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation and Nanfang Media Group, guided by the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government.

More than a dozen expats from the UK, Kazakhstan, Canada, and Mongolia explored the district's blend of innovation, nature, and heritage. Their first stop was Qianhai E-hub, a startup incubator showcasing AI, biotech, and medical devices.
At the Hong Kong Polytechnic University - Qianhai Disruptive Technology and Innovation Research Centre (PolyU - QHRC), they interacted with robotic arms and learned about AI-assisted cancer screening projects.

Next, they visited the I-Factory, a low‑altitude economy hub. There, they experienced eVTOL air taxis, drone racing, and even drone soccer. "I've seen small test drones, but nothing as big as a helicopter. It's incredible to see this in Shenzhen," said Andrew Gibbs from the UK.

The group also toured the Nanshan Energy Ecological Park, a waste‑to‑energy facility with a recycled‑art exhibition. "This modern plant shows real benefits for residents and reflects today's China," said Jay, an American teacher and videographer.

The final stop was Nantou Ancient City, a 1,700‑year‑old historic area. Over tea in a Thangka workshop, participants from different countries shared stories in Mandarin. With the APEC "China Year" approaching, these international visitors are already using their cameras to tell Shenzhen's unique story—where skyscrapers, sea views, drones, and ancient alleys exist side by side.
