A group of international students studying in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region explored Guangzhou from January 12 to 13, discovering how tradition and innovation coexist in the southern metropolis.
The students visited traditional landmarks, including Yong Qing Fang and Shamian Island, as well as modern sites like the Canton Tower. Other stops included the Guangdong Aerospace Research Academy, XPENG ARIDGE, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and Nansha Bird Park. They gained a deeper understanding of the city's diversity, from the low-altitude economy and talent to environmental protection.
Ghanaian student Zaccheaus Pazamilala Akonyani described Guangzhou as "beautiful and scientifically advanced," saying the trip highlighted the importance of balancing tradition with modern technology. He added that he hoped to take some of the technologies he saw back to Ghana.
Indonesian student Novi Mutiara Sani Manufandu noted that elements of Indonesian culture at Nansha reflected growing China-Indonesia cooperation. With rapid development and cultural openness, she hopes to return to Guangzhou in the future.
