For one month in Guangzhou, 10 young engineers from six countries engaged with one of the world's most complex power systems. Organized by CIGRE and China Southern Power Grid, the inaugural exchange provided an in-depth look at how China is building and operating modern electricity networks.
Beyond presentations, participants visited digital substations, HVDC facilities, and low-carbon projects, observing how renewable energy, data, and system flexibility are integrated at scale. What stood out was not a single technology, but the speed with which ideas move from planning to deployment.
As the journey ends, knowledge continues to travel. In its place remains a shared understanding: that the future of power will be built not alone, but together.
