Canton Fair helps drive $400 million export for rural willow weaving industry: Enterprise representative

A sharing session titled "My Canton Fair Story" was held on the afternoon of October 25 at the Canton Fair Complex during the ongoing 138th Canton Fair (Oct 15-Nov 4). The event brought together international buyers and Chinese exhibitors to share insights into the fair's transformative impact.

During the session, Sun Chuanjin, president of the Funan Jinyuan Willow and Wood Crafts Co., Ltd., highlighted how the Canton Fair has helped revitalize rural industries like his own. He said that as the world's largest trade event, the Canton Fair provides a direct platform for Anhui's willow weaving enterprises to connect with international clients.

By showcasing the unique craftsmanship and diversity of their willow products at the fair, the company has attracted buyers from over 50 countries and regions, including the EU, the Middle East, Japan, and South Korea. This exposure has significantly contributed to propelling the local willow weaving industry's annual export value to an impressive $400 million.

"This positive development is encouraging young people to return to their hometowns to join the industry and has tangibly boosted local employment and incomes," he said.
