When the millennium-old Lingnan cultural heritage meets global fashion trends, a city walk in Foshan Ancient Town reveals boundless possibilities.
On April 22, the 2026 Foshan Ancient Town High-Quality Cultural and Tourism Development Conference unveiled its ambition to bid for World Cultural Heritage status and extended a sincere invitation to tourists across the world. Foshan Ancient Town, endowed with a thousand-year historical heritage, is home to cultural treasures including Kung Fu, Cantonese Opera and Lion Dance, and serves as an important birthplace of Lingnan Guangfu culture.
Over the past three years, around RMB 32 billion has been invested in Foshan Ancient Town, with 103 key projects promoted, creating a number of tourist hotspots that blend Chinese style and international appeal. In the future, Foshan Ancient Town will renovate and revitalize its historical and cultural blocks to attract more global visitors. At the event, the South-Foshan Ancient Town International Communication Hub was officially inaugurated and the South-Foshan Ancient Town Channel was launched, enabling Foshan Ancient Town to produce more English-language content and share its rich cultural stories with the world. A one-day visit to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's Foshan Ancient Town offers a journey through a thousand years of history.
