On November 20, the first rail-sea intermodal freight train carrying 35 containers departed from Foshan Guanyao railway logistics hub to Shenzhen’s Yantian Port and Guangzhou’s Nansha Port. The cargo will be shipped to America, Mexico and Jamaica.
With an export value of more than 8 million RMB, the cargo includes local electrical appliances, furniture, light decorations and other goods manufactured in Foshan.
The successful opening of the first rail-sea intermodal train will provide a new logistics channel for foreign trade enterprises in Foshan.
According to the head of Foshan JIT Logistics Limited, railway transportation has helped many companies reduce costs and enhance efficiency by offering high safety and low pollution emissions.
In the next step, Guanyao railway logistics hub will improve the whole-process logistics service standards to boost the integrated development of the intelligent industrial clusters in Foshan as well as deepen the cooperation between its manufacturing and logistics industries.
