Guangdong's Yunfu City is set to host the 3rd China (Yunfu, Guangdong)–RCEP Industrial Cooperation Conference from October 17 to 18, highlighting the city's growing role as a bridge between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and RCEP members.

According to local officials at a press briefing in Guangzhou on October 13, this year's conference will bring together more than 460 participants, including government officials, business leaders, and delegates from ASEAN countries — a 70% increase in foreign attendance compared to last year.

Yunfu has positioned itself as a key industrial hub, with trade with RCEP members now accounting for more than a quarter of the city's total foreign trade. RCEP has been Yunfu's largest trading partner for three consecutive years.

The 2025 event will emphasize six key themes: expanding international partnerships, strengthening industrial clusters, deepening institutional cooperation, building new cooperation platforms, promoting digital and bulk commodity trade, and creating diverse business exchange opportunities.

New initiatives include the unveiling of the China (Guangdong Yunfu)–Malaysia (Johor Bahru) RCEP Industrial Cooperation Park and six RCEP-themed industrial zones across Yunfu, focusing on green building materials, smart metal manufacturing, and agri-food processing. A new bulk commodity trading platform will also be launched to enhance large-scale trade in agricultural and metal products.

The conference will run alongside the Yunfu (Xinxing) Metal Intelligent Manufacturing Industry & Stainless Steel Tableware and Kitchenware Expo (October 17–19) and the 22nd Yunfu International Stone Materials Sci & Tech Fair, as well as the 16th Yunfu Stone Cultural Festival, both aimed at deepening industrial integration and showcasing local innovation.
